The university is a greenhouse that supports the student's ideas, encourages them to experiment, research and grow. But the greenhouse will eventually be outgrown and overgrown as the students, brimming with potential, take their next steps.
The VCD Grad Show showcased the flourishing work of 15 students from both the BA & MA Visual Communication Design programs at Aalto University.

Roots of the Matter is an interactive virtual reality experience that immerses the visitor in a water catchment area on Singapore's Rail Corridor, where they can tune into the plantsβ secret frequencies and explore hidden soundscapes. The visual effects highlight the unique role of each species in the water catchment infrastructure, based on their natural qualities. Each species has a distinct sound, inspired by its cultural associations.
The environment is built in Unity, with LIDAR scans taken at the location.

Climate change will continue to worsen extreme weather conditions in the future,
we are already feeling these effects now. Because of this,
our experience of urban spaces will change radically.
How can cities adapt to these new extreme climate conditions?
In this project, I made an improved proposal for Barcelona's "climate shelter" network.
Working with their open data, I created more accessible UI and a more instinctive symbol for urban signage.

A collection of my editorial work through the years, including novels, philosophy, academic journals & other self-gathered content. Having acquired a strong foundation in typography and book design at the KABK, I take a conceptual approach to editorial design and enjoy creating versatile & expressive typographic systems.

While studying in the New Media MA at Aalto Media Lab, I joined the Digital Art & Design Association (DADA).
In the association, I took the role of Corporate Relations and Outreach, but I worked on a brand identity and visual communication system for DADA.
It's playful, versatile and gives the student association space to grow.
The concept of metamorphosis and constant flux accurately represents a multidisciplinary place such as the Media Lab.
DADA advocates for student's interests and organises events, among them the audiovisual festival ΓΓ€niAalto, interactive exhibition Flux Island and the Demo Days.
This project is a work in progress.

In a light and humorous tone, the website Dwellers of the Memory Palace
invites the participant to rediscover their domestic space by
engaging with it through a series of uplifting self-reflections.
Quirky routine modifications, embodiment and multi-sensory triggers
build a real-life memory palace for guidance and meditation, finding
metaphors, poetry and advice in our everyday actions.
Thesis project for Graphic Design BA at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK).
In my thesis, I explore the existing hierarchy of the senses and grapple with
the new possibilities offered by interactive and immersive technologies, particularly for their applications in branding.
I also ponder my role as a hybrid designer in the future of design as I see it.

Cover design for Belgian author Lize Spit's second novel titled Ik Ben Er Niet (I'm Not Here), published by Das Mag. My design emulates the story of a young woman who one day realises she no longer recognises her own boyfriend and wonders how their relationship will survive this. Lize Spit's first novel, Het Smelt (The Melting), sold over 200,000 copies, was translated to 12 languages and won various prizes.

An identity for a techy community garden with a focus on sustainability and permaculture, built & run by the Interactive Media Design BA and volunteers at the KABK. They grow food and medicinal herbs, install sensors to monitor the plants, organise events and promote well-being by opening the use of this space to everyone.
